Charity Fashion Show!

Well, it’s getting close now – only a week away to Winchester’s Vintage Fashion Show in aid of Victim and Witness Support at The Law Courts.

When I worked at Winchester Combined Courts (it combines Crown and County inc High Court) I worked closely with the volunteers who supported victims and witnesses – appearing for the prosecution and the defence – and I have seen how selflessly they support people from all walks of life – the vulnerable, the stressed, the wounded, the reluctant and the angry – and they treat them all with same reassurance and respect.

So, I am particularly pleased that Stardust Years can help them to raise funds through collaboration with Winchester’s Vintage Hound. We are providing the Ladies’ fashions and Vintage Hound are decking out the chaps! It should be a fun night and we have just about completed matching fashions to models. (Each of my models have a “back up” piece in the event of one of their items being taken home by a lovely customer before the event!). All the models are amateurs and have a connection with work of the Law Courts, Judges, Cleaners, Court Ushers, Support Admin Staff, Security and those plucky Witness Support Volunteers, themselves. Hope you can come along on the evening of Thursday 15th May and cheer them on. There’ll be stalls offering vintage and retro treasures, vintage music, a bar and a lot of laughs.

Vintage Fashion Show!

In the meantime, I have to get on with my script for the Compere, Sylvia (Law Courts’ Receptionist), though she’s a dab hand at fashion catwalk shows and can ad lib along with the best! Getting the rails sorted and arranging their delivery to the Courts will be my next job, after the script, along with additional accessories. Then the vintage brain will have to turn its attention to what we want to have on our stall. Not to mention pricing up our new stock of vintage goodies. Coo, it’s all go, but it’s a lovely way to live and work! Have a great weekend.
